How long does it take for a room to cool down?

If the door and all of the windows in the room are closed, an individual unit can cool a room in less time than a central air conditioning unit can. A relatively small, 10-by-10-foot bedroom should become noticeably colder in 20 minutes and reach a more comfortable temperature in about an hour.
