How long does it take to become a hvac engineer?

There are two ways to train for this job, an intermediate building services engineering installer apprenticeship or an advanced refrigeration air conditioning and heat pump engineering technician apprenticeship. Depending on the apprenticeship programme, training can take between 2 and 4 years.
