Your Nest thermostat internal battery is consistently charged by your electric system wires, so it can last as long as your electrical system is operating. If your electrical system power is turned off or goes out, the battery can keep it running for up to two hours on its own. When this occurs, your system turns off smart features such as Wi-Fi to conserve battery until it turns off entirely.
