How many amps does a 1000 watt amplifier draw?
If the amplifier uses a 12V supply and puts out 1000WRMS, it requires 83 Amps. There are two other things to consider. If 50% efficiency is assumed, you have 166 Amps. Derate 1/3 of the 1000W to give you 55 Amps.
