How many watts of baseboard heat do I need?

220 watt per foot is the average for electric baseboard heaters. To estimate wattage, use the heater length as a guide. To arrive at an estimated 1,012 watt, take 4.5 by 225 and add it up. There is a formula that works for both 120 and 240 watt heaters.
