How much land is needed to build a heat pump? A consistent heat source can be found in trenches that are at least two metres deep. 50-80 metres of pipe per kilowatt, or 10 metres of'slinky' coiled pipe per kilowatt, with a minimum distance between trenches of at least 5 metres.
