How much propane does it take to run a generator?

Until the propane supply is exhausted, a generator powered by propane will run. Above or below ground, most propane tanks are 500 to 1000 gallons. A generator powered by propane will burn 2 gallons an hour. A 500-gallon tank is sufficient to power your home for a week.
