Is my house 220 or 240?

Most of them have 220 volts instead of 240, while others have the same. Is that correct? The majority of domestic appliances are rated under 220 volts. They are able to run on either 220 or 240 volts. Plugging a kiln into a 220volt circuit will result in slow firings.
