What causes air in central heating system?

A rusty pipe or build-up of sludge can cause a build-up of hydrogen in the system. If you find yourself re- pressing the boiler frequently, there are small leaks that can let air in. Is that correct? To open the valve, turn the key slightly. Once the air has left, tighten the valve again.
