What causes an electric stove to stop working?

If one of your stove top burners isn't heating, it could be a bad burner, a bad connection in the burner sockets, or a faulty switch. Is this true? The burner sockets can fail to provide power if they burn out. Examine the sockets if the prongs look burned. If the sockets look charred or burned, replace them.
