What do the colored wires mean on a thermostat?
Rh and Rc are abbreviations for Red-Heat and Red- Cool. The jumper between Rh and Rc is required for heating and cooling hybrid systems if you only have one red wire. The AC compressor is Yellow/Y. The heating element is white/ W. Green is running the fan.
