What does a failing water pump sound like?

A bearing failure is the most likely failure of your engine's water pump. A worn bearing in your water pump is a sign of pump noise as it will allow the pump pulley to wobble as it rotates. It is possible to see the pump pulley or belt wobbling when your engine is on.
