What does dummy lock mean?

A dummy lock refers to a “fake” lock that has the appearance of a normal padlock. It can be attached to a shed, or a trailer, or anything else that you’d normally be able to lock with a normal padlock. A dummy lock doesn't need a key to unlock it. It’s merely designed to give the appearance of added security in order to deter potential intruders.
