What does it mean when you flush the toilet and the bathtub gurgles?

The water blocks the air from entering. When the toilet is flushed, air will flow through your bathtub if it has no P-trap. Is that correct? Air coming in or out through the P-trap is the main cause of bathtub gurgling. When the pipes are blocked, the noise can be louder.
