What does seer mean in hvac?

A SEER rating is the efficiency at which air conditioners produce cooling. Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio is a ratio of the amount of cooling produced and the amount of electricity used. The air conditioner's efficiency increases when the SEER is higher.
