What does swing mean on my thermostat?

The difference between the temperature when a system comes on and the temperature when it goes off is called swing. The thermostat is set at HEAT, a target temperature set at 70F, and a swing number of 3. The heat usually comes on at 69 and goes off at 71. The swing can be set by most Ritetemp thermostats.
