What happens if oil gets on spark plugs?

A leaking valve cover gasket is the most likely culprit. The spark plug well will leak oil if the gasket is not sealed. It's possible that it's a faulty valve cover, but it's more likely that the problem is the gasket. Oil enters the tube and causes a cylinder malfunction.
