What is an acceptable voltage drop on the live side of a circuit?

A 5% drop at the furthest receptacle in a branch wiring circuit is acceptable for normal efficiency according to the National Electrical Code. When the circuit is fully loaded, there should be no more than a 6 volt drop at the furthest outlet.
