What is anode and cathode in electrolysis?

The oxidation half-reaction occurs at the anode and the reduction half-reaction occurs at the cathode in both types of cells.In both types of electrochemical cells, anode is the electrode produced by the oxidation semi-reaction, and cathodode is the electrode produced by the reduction semi-reaction.
