A different labeling system is called class pipe. The class designation rates the internal pressure that the pipe can take instead of the wall thickness. No matter what the diameter of the pipe is, a class 200′′ pipe can take 200psi. It takes 200 psi if it is 10. It takes 200 pounds per square inch if it's 1/32”.
