What is FCU in HVAC?
A fan coil unit (FCU) is also known as a vertical fan coil unit (VFC). Its job is to regulate room temperature by moving air through a building's ductwork.
How Does a FCU Work?
A FCU is a device made up of a heat exchanger coil and a fan that moves the warm air over the coils. The coils contain a hot or cold liquid so that, depending on the season, you get warmed up or cooled down. As air moves over the coils, heat is transferred between the air from the room and the coil.
