What is positive closing valve?

A valve moves between an open position and a closed position, and the valve closes the outlet when the valve is in the closed position. Although attempts have been made to provide check valves with a means of closing against a positive pressure, they have not proved to be able to hold the valve closed against high fluid pressure.
