What is the difference between a hot water heating system and a warm air heating system?

The main difference between boilers and furnaces is that boilers heat water to be used for heating, while furnaces heat air to be used for heating. Warm air is generated through the heated water in the boiler. They don't need ducts to circulate warm air.
