What is the difference between rigid conduit and galvanized pipe?

rigid metal conduit is available in sizes between 1/2 inch and 6 inches, while galvanized pipe can be made to almost any diameter. There are threads on the end of galvanized piping. The conduit is made of metal and has one end threaded and one end not.
