What is the function of steam condenser?

In thermal power plants, a steam condenser is a device in which the exhaust steam from the steam turbine is condensed by means of cooling water. The purpose of a steam condenser is to condense the steam into pure water so that it can be used in the steam generator or boiler as feed and obtain maximum efficiency.
