Where does the thermostat gasket go?

The new car thermostat can be placed in either the engine or gooseneck. Use a self-adhesive gasket to hold it in place. Apply the bead of RTV sealant. A faulty thermostat is the most common cause of an overheating or no-heat condition in your vehicle.
