Which direction do you turn the toilet water valve to shut it off?

As with most faucets and valves, you'll turn your toilet valve in a clockwise direction to shut off the water supply. You'll know the valve is off if it's at a diagonal angle to the water supply pipe. If it's in line with the water supply pipe, then the valve is on. The shut off valve is usually found behind the toilet tank.
