Why cant you use liquid plumber in a toilet?

The Liquid Plumr cannot be used in the toilet. Each toilet has a big wax ring that seals it to the drain pipe. Is this true? You will end up with half the water going down the pipes and the other half leaking out if you try to flush next time.
