Why do toilet seats get so cold?

The toilet seat is close to room temperature or slightly cooler due to it's proximity to the cool water in the toilet, so if we assume 70F (21.2C) there is a 28F (18.9C) difference in temperature. The heat is lost from your butt quicker if the temperature difference is greater.
