Why does my furnace leak water when the heat is on?

The condensation from a high-efficiency gas furnace goes to a floor drain. Break in the line or condensation tubing could be the cause of your leak. That could allow the hot exhaust to cool down and condense in the pipe, then drain back to the furnace and leak out.
