Why does my outside ac unit not run?

Capacitor issue is the most likely cause of an outside fan failure. The air conditioner's fans use energy from Capacitors. A start/run Capacitor may be used to start the fan and keep it running. A bad Capacitor can't properly power your AC's fan, which means it can't spin.
