Why does my toilet make noise when not in use?

Your toilet is making noise when it isn't in use because of a worn or faulty flapper. If the flapper is malfunctioning, your toilet will run constantly and waste a lot of water. Remove the knobs of the flush valve tube when this has been disconnected.
