Why is my backflow making noise?

Since it's designed to close if flow stops, a backflow preventer will chatter at very low flow rates. The noise will persist unless you increase the flow on the drip zones. Replacing it with the same spec valve is not going to stop the chatter. The discharge valve needs to be partially closed to reduce the noise.
