Why is there no defrost cycle on a geothermal heat pump?

What is a cycle like? The AIR PUMP SOURCE HEATS are used to melt ice off of the outdoor coil. Since water source heat pumps are indoors and use the earth as a heat source instead of the outdoor air, there's no need for a DEFROST CYCLE.
