Common Plumbing Issues

Drains behaving badly? Pipes putting up a fight? Here are some common signs of plumbing problems.

  • clogged tankless coil
  • water heater exhaust is blocked
  • flood stop valve has tripped
  • water heater pilot light is out

If your water heater is giving you the cold shoulder, there's something’s wrong with your system. The thermocouple, water heat exhaust, and flood stop are just some of the possible suspects.

LEARN MORE

  • clogged tankless coil
  • leak in the main water supply
  • clogged water line
  • clogged shower head

When low water pressure in your shower is ruining your mornings, a clogged showerhead or a restricted shower valve could be at the root of the problem.

LEARN MORE

  • heating elements are overheating
  • water leaking from the T&P relief valve
  • faulty water heater thermostat
  • heat pump thermostat setting is wrong

You're not a piece of pasta, so when you take a bath, you probably prefer your water to stay below the boiling point. Don’t scold your water heater if it decides to scald you. Too-hot water is your system’s way of telling you it’s not well.

LEARN MORE

  • garbage disposal flange seal is broken
  • garbage disposal drain line connections are faulty
  • garbage disposal's bottom gasket is leak

Whether you smell, see, or hear it first, when your disposal drips, you'll want to get to the bottom of the issue. But sometimes the problem isn’t at the bottom: Your garbage disposal might be leaking from the top or either side, so there are three different places to investigate.

LEARN MORE

  • water softener system runs water constantly
  • leak in the main water supply
  • main water valve is shut
  • clogged water line

Does your water pressure need a boost? Well pump pressure switch settings or low incoming water pressure from a municipal water supply are the most common causes of low water pressure in your home.

LEARN MORE

  • water softener timer motor has stopped working
  • water softener is out of salt
  • water softener brine tank flooded
  • water softener isn't working

Has your soap lost its bubbly personality? The last thing you want is a bar of soap that won’t lather. It’s likely not your soap’s fault, but rather the water running through your tap.

LEARN MORE

  • toilet is leaking
  • float is letting water leak past
  • water is running down the overflow tube

Tired of chasing after your toilet water? If your toilet water is constantly running, it’s best to have it fixed before it raises your monthly utility bill (and before the noise drives you crazy).
